Upcoming Arts & Events:

April 16–April 29, 2026

The two weeks ahead in Fairfield are dense with live music at the Fairfield Theatre Company and a marquee theatrical event at the Quick Center that brings professional Broadway actors together with Fairfield University students for the first time. The Edgerton Center at Sacred Heart rounds out the period with a full run of spring dance and music showcases.

Big River: In Concert Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18 — 7:30 p.m. | Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, Kelley Theatre, Fairfield

Fairfield University's Theatre Program and Glee Club will join professional Broadway and Equity actors for a staged concert production of Roger Miller and William Hauptman's Big River, based on the Mark Twain novel, in what the university describes as the first time student performers and professional stage actors have shared a single production at the Quick. Nearly 90 student performers are involved alongside Equity-contracted cast members, accompanied by a full symphonic orchestra. The production is framed as part of Fairfield University's America250 programming. Tickets are listed as available through the venue at quickcenter.fairfield.edu.

The Queen Meets The Kings: Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez / The Slim Kings with Liberty DeVitto Sunday, April 19 — 7 p.m. | Fairfield Theatre Company StageOne, Fairfield

This double billing pairs Christine Ohlman — long associated with Saturday Night Live's house band — and her group Rebel Montez with The Slim Kings, whose lineup includes Liberty DeVitto, the drummer who anchored Billy Joel's band for more than three decades. The program draws on classic rock and soul across both acts, with DeVitto's presence giving the evening an unmistakable period credential. Tickets are listed as available at fairfieldtheatre.org.

Afternoon of Jazz: Carl Carter & Michael Nickolas Wednesday, April 22 — 1 p.m. | Fairfield Theatre Company StageOne, Fairfield

Part of FTC's Midday Matinee series — underwritten by Visiting Angels, United Healthcare, and other community sponsors — this afternoon jazz concert is designed around accessible pricing and an earlier start time, making it one of the more openly civic programs on the current schedule. Carter and Nickolas bring a duo format suited to the intimate StageOne room. Tickets are listed as available at fairfieldtheatre.org.

Irish Dance Showcase Friday, April 17 — 7 p.m. | Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, Sacred Heart University, Fairfield

Sacred Heart's annual Irish Dance Showcase presents student performers in a program that draws on traditional Irish step and céilí traditions as practiced in the university's dance program. The Edgerton Center's 776-seat auditorium provides a full theatrical setting for the production. Tickets are listed as available at edgertoncenter.org.

Anders Osborne with Jamie McLean Saturday, April 18 — 8 p.m. | Fairfield Theatre Company The Warehouse, Fairfield

New Orleans-based guitarist and songwriter Anders Osborne has built a following across decades of touring on the strength of his blues-rooted, emotionally direct songwriting. Jamie McLean, a New York-based guitarist known for his work in the Americana and blues tradition, opens the evening. The Warehouse format keeps the show close and relatively spare. Tickets are listed as available at fairfieldtheatre.org.

Alison Brown Saturday, April 25 — 8 p.m. | Fairfield Theatre Company StageOne, Fairfield

Grammy-nominated banjoist and composer Alison Brown has spent three decades expanding the instrument's range beyond traditional bluegrass, recording and performing at the intersection of jazz, folk, and acoustic improvisation. Her StageOne appearance will be a solo or small-group format in an intimate room suited to nuanced instrumental work. Tickets are listed as available at fairfieldtheatre.org.

Thee Sinseers & The Altons Sunday, April 26 — 7 p.m. | Fairfield Theatre Company StageOne, Fairfield

East Los Angeles soul outfit Thee Sinseers, signed to Colemine Records, headline this double bill on their 2026 national tour. Led by multi-instrumentalist Joseph Quiñones, the group blends vintage soul arrangement — full brass, close harmonies, deep rhythm section — with contemporary production. The Altons open. This is one of the higher-profile touring soul bookings FTC has scheduled this spring. Tickets are listed as available at fairfieldtheatre.org.

On the Horizon

— Fairfield University Glee Club Pops Concert Glee2K — a program of 2000s-era pop presented in choral arrangement — takes the Kelley Theatre at the Quick Center on Wednesday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are listed as available.

— Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, a fiddle player and vocalist who has toured with Béla Fleck and performed across the Americana circuit, brings her band Hitch & the Giddyup to FTC's StageOne on Thursday, April 30, at 8 p.m. Tickets are listed as available.
